Thoughts Become Things is a cultural film project rooted in Bermuda’s rich heritage, specifically the Bermudian Gombey. Influenced by African, Native American, and Bermudian culture, the project began as a poetic short film following a young Gombey on a mystical journey to reconnect with his ancestors and has since grown into a multi-layered cultural Project.

The core short film has now been completed and released globally, alongside the behind-the-scenes mini-documentary Decoding Thoughts and the Official Soundtrack. Together, these works have carried Bermudian culture to international audiences through film festivals, screenings, and digital platforms around the world. The film has been selected by 25 international film festivals across 12 countries, subtitled in 5 languages, won 13 awards including two Telly Awards and has received 2 Webby recognitions.

This project has also been a direct investment in Bermuda. Of the $36,303 spent, nearly 80% went directly back into the Bermudian community. Every creative decision was made by a Bermudian and every dollar possible was kept on the island.

We are now entering the next phase of the project and are seeking sponsorship to support continued outreach and legacy-building efforts. This includes the production of a music video tied to the soundtrack, the opportunity to attend select film festivals in person as cultural ambassadors for Bermuda, and targeted international marketing to ensure the story continues to reach new audiences globally.

By becoming a sponsor, you are helping to extend the life and impact of this project by supporting Bermudian culture on the world stage while contributing to a growing creative legacy. If you are interested in joining us on this journey, please fill out the interest form and we will be in touch within 24 hours. Thank you for helping us continue to share our culture with the world.
