From Bermuda to the World: Festival Selections
When a film festival selects a film, it is like receiving their official stamp of approval. It means the festival’s programmers have reviewed the work and deemed it worthy of inclusion in their lineup, a true honor, as festivals often review hundreds, sometimes thousands, of submissions each year.
However, not every selected film will be screened during the festival’s public events. Some selections are showcased online, highlighted in festival materials, or reserved for industry viewing only. Whether screened or not, an official selection is a mark of quality and a sign that the film has connected with respected voices in that festival’s community.
For Thoughts Become Things, 90% of our submissions were made through FilmFreeway, the leading global platform where filmmakers submit their work to festivals around the world. This tool gave us access to a wide network of international festivals and played a key role in helping our story travel far beyond Bermuda.
